Re: UPDATE_istance whit rhino+Tutorial
Cool, do you work for LMN? My friend used to work there and I was checking out LMNT - saw something like this on their page recently...

Re: Any chance for Ocelot?
Would be nice. Just sold off my gtx480s as I'm building a new system planning on 3 7970s. Impressed enough with their performance to give an OpenCL renderer a try but would like to stick with octane.

Re: 590 gtx + two 580 gtx - scalability/performance test
590 gtx @ 1186 mhz
580 gtx @ 1507 mhz
both with 512 cores as you all know it
GTX 590 should have 2 x 512 cores (or 1024 cores). It's basically 2 GTX 580s smashed together.
So the 590 should run at approximately 2x the 580.
Which video driver are you using? Maybe the older drivers don't ...

Re: Export multiple views as ocane cameras.
i agree, this would be great. i end up doing exactly what he's talking about when doing architectural renders, have all my views setup in rhino then have to go through exporting each one and reimporting it into octane.

Re: Rendering time
The 2nd image is better to my eyes, you have to have a trained eye maybe, but look at the shadows!
1. shadows on the wall from the hanging box lights,
2. shadows from the chair on the radiator
3. light coming in from the kitchen window
Photography is "painting with light" - rendering picks up on ...

Re: Easiest way to do animations?
Think I solved this... was exporting .dxf to 3dsmax (from rhino) so I had no real surfaces! HAH.
Using a OBJ to 3dsmax gives me some weird triangles... need to find a format to work, but at least now the plugin/octane are reading the weird geometry that's a result of the bad import...
