The first GTX-580´s with 3 Gb memory are out. F.i. Point of view makes two versions. Mildly and heavily overclocked. Would never overclock to the extreme. About 500E.
Is it correct that 3Gb is the maximum per GPU for Octane?

Re: Is My Video Card CUDA enabled?
Another solution would be to buy a GT120 only for display and use the 8800 for octane.
It seams that this card is working perfectly also on Mac Pro 2008.

ciao beppe

Re: multi gpu motherboards
Siince a driver update some time ago Nvidia doesn´t want to function if it sees ATI cards. This to ´guarantee´ stability but no doubt with large support from the marketing dept.
Max.

Performance of GTX game cards versus Quadro´s
Hi,
I read somewhere that the 4xx series was deliberately crippled so that DP calculations run at 1/5 the speed of single precision floats, while the Fermi architecture can manage 1:2 DP vs SP.
I never noticed this before but when you search for it there are several sites which indeed mention it ...

Re: French / Nederlands quick demonstration videos of octane.
Heel leuk gedaan, slechts een puntje van kritiek. Het is jammer dat het eindbeeld niet wat langer blijft staan.
In english. Very nice video, just one thing could be improved: the final image should be in view for a few seconds more.
BTW: is there an English version of it? I would like to show it ...

Re: Two 460s 768MB RAM or one 460 with 2GB (for the same $)?
The lowest European price I have seen is for the Palit GTX 460 Sonic 2GB (2048MB GDDR5) at 236E including 19% VAT.
So if you use it professionally it will cost you just below 200E.
If you compare that to even the cheapest i7 the render performance increase is extreme with the combination of Octane ...

Hi Radiance,
I completely believe you as you will know :)
However there seems some contradictions in the two statements from you.
