Re: Animating Octane nodes over time?
One more question for you aoktar, since I can't seem to figure it out or find anything about it from some googling... how do I actually get a transform node (or more specifically, the T.Y attribute in a transform node) into xpresso? I can get some other Octane nodes into xpresso, but not the nodes ...

Re: Animating Octane nodes over time?
2- How do you animate gradient in C4D with standard way?
Well, when you put it that way it made me double check the standard C4D gradient and as you say, there doesn't seem to be a way to animate it like I'm trying to do. That's my bad, it just made sense in my head that you should beable to do ...

Re: Animating Octane nodes over time?
You can animate material or texture attributes by keyframing or with some xpresso/python. Animation parameter didn't work work because plugin just updates the things if any change message detected. This is done because provide intelligent algorithm for sending smaller data. Since next builds plugin ...

Animating Octane nodes over time?
Hey!
So I've been loving Octane for rendering still images , but any time I need to do animation I almost always want to animate material nodes over time, and from everything I've seen and read I don't think there's a way to do that in the current version of Octane in Cinema 4D? Nothing like a ...

Re: How to deal with this pretty specific caustics scenario?
Hi,
yes, PMC for caustics is not fast, but you could try with this settings, to improve a bit the render time:

ciao Beppe
Thanks! I will certainly try that next week when I get back to this project, and try to update this thread with the results. Until ...

Re: How to deal with this pretty specific caustics scenario?
Yes, that's usually a valid method to get around this.. but in this case I need accurate caustics, because the light pattern will change as the various parts in the lamp moves around. That's the entire feature we're trying to demonstrate, so good caustics is pretty essential :)
I've done some ...

Re: How to deal with this pretty specific caustics scenario?
Do you really need accurate caustics? Can you fake it with a simple gobo? Maybe do a single realistic render against a white wall, just to get the right pattern, then use that as the gobo mask.

Re: How to deal with this pretty specific caustics scenario?
Please, post a screenshot of PMC Kernel settings, and please note that AI Spectral Denoiser does not work in PMC, only DL and PT.
ciao Beppe
Sure, here's a couple of screenshots. I hope it helps. I kept most settings at default. Post tab is entirely disabled.

How to deal with this pretty specific caustics scenario?
Hey!
So I just purchased Octane for Cinema 4D today and so far I'm absolutely loving it! But suffice to say I'm running into some issues I'm not sure how to solve.
Right now I'm working on a project where I'm trying to rig a lamp for product renders and, potentially if I can solve these insane ...
