Re: Nothing in Live Window - New User
I should just add that I've downloaded and opened the first sample scene so there are things in the scene OK.

Nothing in Live Window - New User
Hi,
I've just installed Cinema 4D and Octane but nothing is showing up in the live viewer.
I followed the docs for the quick startup render, created a folder called plugins in the program directory, put the c4doctane folder in there, and now I see the Octane menu bar OK in the program, but ...

Spectron Volumetric Spotlight Colour change?
Hi,
I want to use a volumetric spotlight in my scene so I've used the spectron light and I now have a nice stage looking light on my subject. However I can't see how to change the brightness or colour of the light? I've tried all sorts of things with the medium which doesn't seem to make a ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2022.1 for Lightwave?
This looks fantastic, particularly the caustics improvements. Will this version be ported to the Lightwave plugin?

Re: HDRI Image loses 16bit info in surfaces
Thankyou both, OK let's hope they do that soon. Frank, I looked at that but it's just not as realistic in glass reflections as a true HDRI, thanks anyway though.

Re: dispersion caustics?
There's only one small very bright light in the scene so I don't know what else I can do, as you can see it's also not able to calculate properly with lots of blotches everywhere?

Re: dispersion caustics?
Thanks Elsksa, here's the IPR Render, the attachment of the basic scene and what I'd like to eventually produce on the Ballantines whisky photo. I know the liquid is wrong on the upright one but it doesn't really effect the overall situation. The issue is that the caustics are way too basic and ...

Re: dispersion caustics?
Elsksa, could you please point me at any info on these settings for better caustics? I'm rendering bottles and desperate to get some good caustics but I've tried the PMC kernel and it doesn't seem to make any difference?

HDRI Image loses 16bit info in surfaces
Hi,
I've used HDRI's for environments but plugging the texture into the texture environment and this works well.
However instead of doing that I'd like to map the image onto a polygon and the place this behind my subject. However I've noticed that the image loses all it's 16bit info. I've tried ...
