So, to obtain correct Cryptomatte AOVs, you need to re render the scene by switching the camera from Universal to ThinLens, set the Aperture to zero, and the Max Sampling to 1 in Kernel panel.

ciao,
Beppe
I already thought about that workaround. I guess I'll do it this way.

Thank you Beppe

Cryptomatte affected by Aperture Shape and Optical Vignette

Hi,

my problem is when I select a cryptomatte ID in After Effects and set the cryptomatte output to "matte only" the selected ID gets grey but not white.

When I change the output to "matted RGBA" my selected ID gets half transparent.

Re: Quality Disparity between Film and Render Regions in Photon

Hi,
please note that Film and Render Regions are working differently with sampling.
While Film Region is stopping at the same Max Sampling chosen in Kernel panel, the Render Region doesn't stop and continue till 1Million sampling.
Since GI Clamp is set to 10, you cannot see any difference in Path ...

Quality Disparity between Film and Render Regions in Photon

Hi,

I'm currently rendering a scene with the photon tracer kernel, and I noticed a significant difference in
image quality between the film region and the render region. For example, the film region renders the
image part in 22 seconds, while the render region for the same part takes 144 seconds ...

Re: Render Error with ACES OCIO

I heard form this workflow but mine worked with no problems.
I added some screenshots how I setted it up.

Once I removed the OCIO and all links to it, I saved it and restarted C4D. After that I imported the OCIO and
now it works again... I really don't know what the problem was

Render Error with ACES OCIO

Hello,

suddenly Octane can't render with my loaded ACES OCIO. I changed nothing on my PC or project. Even my old scenes are not working anymore.
I get this Error Log:

Sadly :( So the NVLink is like the Out of Core function in Octane but much faster?

Are you talking about "Meshlets"? If so I'm really hyped for the next big update :D

2x RTX 4090 = double the VRAM?

Hi,

I was thinking about getting two RTX 4090s, but I just noticed by looking at their pictures that they don't have any NVLink connections. I then read that Nvidia dropped support for NVLink because of PCIe 5.0.
Theoretically, you could use the motherboard as the NVLink, but does it really work ...

Re: Photon Tracer weird flickering

Oh... Your are right. I didn't noticed I changed it. I thought it was at default.
Thank you very much!
