i have the same thing on some projects since maybe 2023 version. I thought its because xparticles in the scene, but the cursor-refreshing thing is also in some scenes without them. Never figured out what element is doing this behaviour. But yeah, its still there.

Not sure what you are talking about because there are not any box mapping stuff. Cubic mapping from texture tag of C4D native or box projection from Octane side.
And we never had support for projection types for texture displacement, it works(ed) with vertex displacement. And still works.

Please bring back box mapping for Displacement.

I had to upgrade to octane 2021, and im loosing my mind here, because i worked a LOT with texture box mapping. Since 2021 version, displacement is only limited to "mesh UV" only.
Am i missing something really simple here or do i need to unpack even the most simple geo like 100x50x100 cube? Box ...

Sure, im posting link.
As i said my main issue is box projection texture "floating" in every project with 2021 plugin, when object is animated or moving. And displacement not working on box projection. In 2020 box projected displacement worked fine.

Im still not sure if im missing something simple, but wasnt box projection sticking on surface in 2020, and now its "floating" like camera/perspective mapping? Im loosing my mind here.
Nope, it will float if you're using Octane box projection with deformed meshes.

Is this 2021 change ...

Weird bug here when i try to change texture projection to box (maybe others are bugged too).
For example, all textures (diffuse, roughness,normal, displacement) are connected to the same transform and projection nodes, displacement map is projecting OK, all the others are like 1000% smaller.

Reviving this thread. Im at version 2020.2.5-R2 and till have this problem, with passes enabled in render setting, including cryptomatte, render region in LV doesnt work.

I have a problem with "light pass mark" in oject tag. When trying to bypass some light IDs from object (ie. let only ID no.5 light it up), the object is still catching every light in the scene. Rolled back to 2020 and bypass is working again.

btw. everything else is working great right now, plugin ...
