Re: Any news on Cubix replacement?
Hello again,
I don't wanna be a pain in the
I'm eagerly waiting for any info about the Cubix replacement or any external hardware solution really.
I won't buy my new hardware until i know what things we would expect in the future (this year)
Even solid rumors would make me happy ;)

Re: Fastest CUDA card for Mac?
I'm waiting for the next Mac Pro to and really hope it will have the latest nVidia cards as option.
I have suggested.... or rather threatened Apple that if they don't shape up in the graphic card area users will choose other solutions.
I told them that it doesn't feel very Pro to have a new computer ...

Re: Build a custom Octane computer, sugestions?
Yes Jaberwocky is wright spend more money on GPU ;) .
Thanks, that seems to be the way to go with Octane, so right now i'm thinking 2 x GTS 460 2GB dedicated for Octane.
Now i can't decide between 2 x 4-core Xeon or just a single i7

Build a custom Octane computer, sugestions?
Hi,
I've now decided to build a new computer from scratch with the right components to get a nice Octane machine.
I'm not used to build computers and are a bit unsure what things i should go for.
The new i7 960 and 980 seems unnecessary expensive so 2x i7 950 seems to make more sense.

Mac Pro 2007+ Nvidia 8800 + 2x GTX 460/480?
Hello,
I have a 3 year Mac Pro with currently have a ATI 4890 in it, and obviously can't run Octane.
It doesn't seem like Apple will have Nvidia as an option for the new Pro's right now, so getting a new Pro now seems pointless for me, and i really don't want to buy a new PC just to render.

Re: new portfolio
@pm3d
You seem to be off to a good start with Octane.
As mentioned above some of the pictures are to dark, it makes them hard to evaluate.
Also some of the camera angles feels a little odd and makes the scene feel distorted.
The kitchen table scene in the "work in progress" looks promising.

Re: The most famous mobile phone in the world...
Hi guys!
Still practising photorealism...
- Modelled in Sketchup
- UV-Unwrapped and UV-Mapped in Blender
- Stopped rendering after 5000 spp
- I also used the Alpha Render technique to get rid of the background
I'm working on a wooden surface on which the phone will rest.
Please comment ...
