Evenly distributing objects using octane scatter
Hi there,
I have a really basic question that I can't seem to figure out how to answer via google or YT. I'm trying to make a string of virtual christmas lights to hang on neuron branches (for science!).
I've managed to create lights on a spline (and yes I know they look horrible, open to tips ...

Flickering
Hi all,
I am rendering a scene with some neurons and the scene is flickering for some reason. You can see what I mean here: https://youtu.be/AA6ozUMxfUo
I have read through past forum posts (coherent ratio is set to zero, I toggled on/off AI denoising, I even tried rendering direct lighting in ...

Re: How do I get bloom to render in a transparent image?
Thank you for the analysis. I have not ever rendered out multiple passes -- do you happen to have a tutorial on this?
Is there any way to make the alpha catch the bloom? That way I do not have to add another step to the render process plus keep up with 2 files for every cortex render, of which I ...

How do I get bloom to render in a transparent image?
I have been having trouble getting bloom power to show up in my renders. It shows up if I include a backgound in the render, but I can't seem to get it to appear on any transparent image. Does anyone have ideas as to how to fix this? Here is an example of bloom with bg vs without (same render, no ...

How do I make clouds not look grainy?
Hi there,
I'm working on rendering some clouds with neurons but they are *so* grainy. I've tried denoiser and it first crashed my PC 4x and finally with just denoised beauty it came out basically solid white (examples: https://imgur.com/a/l3pguzH). Do I need more lights on the clouds or should I ...

How do I rotate Scattered object on surface of a sphere?
So I'm frustrated with a work project and was diverting attention by making a stupid pun render. Yes, I am trying to make a Corona Virus. Unfortunately I can't seem to rotate the cloned object on the surface of the sphere. No matter what I plug into Scatter >> Distribution >> Rotate it only spins ...

Re: Why do HDR skies overexpose my render?
I changed the color profile to linear and that seemed to make it work, though I'm not sure if that is what it is supposed to look like.

Re: Why do HDR skies overexpose my render?
Thank you. Is this where you mean to switch to ImageTexture? Probably not because it didn't change anything that I notice. I'm sorry, cannot seem to find those options you mentioned.
Could it be that I am using HDR and I should be using EXR file type?

Why do HDR skies overexpose my render?
Hi all,
I've thus far been making renders without an HDR background and it's come to my attention that they dramatically improve reflectances and can make your object look much more real. Buuuut every time I try to add one in it destroys my scene.
I've tried reducing power, even deleting all ...
