Re: Bedroom
very nice, congrats to the girl for the color choice too.
the only thing is the woodfloor looks a little "plastic" imho (it's probably the bumpmap)

Re: 3D Rendering Business for Architecture
For 1000 you would need to finish one small project every day so its likely you will need collegues which splits up the profit again. Plus you have expenses....
not to mention you should have one client hiring you for a small project you can do in one day (from modeling to post-pro) every single ...

Re: best settings for interior night shots with emitters
self reply...
ouch, I forgot my "simple" cube emitters actually had 54 quads each and 3 levels of subD applied! lowering their emission to a min (to keep the "emissive" look) and replacing with 6 "ghost" cubes as real emitters solved most of the problems! I was able to set up some more glossy mats ...

best settings for interior night shots with emitters
Hi!
I have serarched and read here and there but still cannot get a decent solution for this... so here I am asking if there's some further trick to avoid huge hotpixels/firefly in night interior scenes with emitters.
I apologize for what is probably the n-th thread on this subject and the lack of ...

Re: OCTANE BENCHMARK: Submit performance scores for your rig!
Hi,
just added my data for a GTX560Ti 2Gb running 2.48b
2.22 Ms/sec and 4:28 to reach 1000s
is it not too much compared to Silverwing's 570 above?
480cores*168s/384cores = 210 -> should I expect 3:30 mins then?

Re: (another thread on) Hardware advice
...in this economy...
don't tell me... I've been looking for this for more than a year now, my previous Win machine was so old (one of the last P4HT on 478 socket) I couldn't use Octane because there was no PCIe... from 2088 I've been investing all my "computer stuff" budget in my MacBookPro ...
