True as you said, in the 29.15 the issue is almost correct for most cases.
though I find myself in an embarrassed situation.
attached please find, when the old file is in the asset library, the issue remains...
if you open the problematic .blend file directly, it is fine, but if you insert the sofa ...

Sorry, I found out why this issue is coming out.
when an old material has both evee or cycles output and octane output,
it will not converted correctly automatically, means the output option will leave as empty instead of "all".
So, my old projects cannot be corrected converted,
I hope this issue ...

I think that still the plan until the add on version is on par with the blender build version.
I try to only use the add on version because i don't love having multiple blender builds installed but sadly haven't been updated since february so i think the add on version isnt working with 4.1 ...

octane option for material output is missing
For both new version of 29.13 and 29.14, in the material output node, the octane option is missing.
though for new project if choose "all" it may still work when using octane engine,
I believe this is a bug:
please imagine for old projects, it will be a big thing to change hundreds of materials...

Since geometry node is so powerful, using octane's vertex color attribute to pass by all kinds of parameters is obviously too limited.
I am curious is there a more common way to transfer geonodes attributes to octane?
Is it possible that OSL may play a role?

I was also struggling a lot with fog when begin to use octane render.
I personally believe part of the reason that octane's fog is a problem for us,
is the default model of medium is based on a bad assumption which made the fog effect very flat.
that is the default medium is preset as a sphere ...
