After much investigation, we have decided to go down a 3DGS route for our shoot instead of 4DGS.
Theres not much info around yet about the Octane GS loader, can any one point me to anything useful? (only really found the Pixel Lab tut to be of any use)

I am beginning pre prod on a project that will use 4DGS capture. I have given the new gaussian splat loader a go and it works great, but im wondering how or if it can work with 4DGS? Is this possible, or not yet/ever?

Lets say Im making a material, i import a psd that contains an alpha, i must place it in an image tex node and then duplicate and change type to be able to use the alpha.
Is there a way to not have to use two image tex nodes? I often have to reuse a material and change out the tex, I know it ...

Thanks for all that.
The models are supplied as FBX so ive no way to alter them on import unfortunately.
But again, thank you for the tips, its good to hear Im basically doing the right things, and just keep an eye on stuff!

After sharing your thought with boss, we are looking in to some upgrades, maybe swapping out the 2 x 3080s for 1 x 4090 and another smaller card for monitors. Or adding a new machine with that set up and keeping the 3080 machine for a new slave.

Yer I use only tiffs for inputs and exrs for output (99% of the time)
