Hi all,
Is there a way to update an OBJ that I've saved to my LocalDB in Octane Render Standalone?
I love having Mesh items, with their materials all worked out, that I can drop into a scene, but I have not figured out how to update those OBJs. When I click 'Reload Mesh' Octane just want to update ...

How to export cam animation from Modo to Octane Standalone?
Hi all,
Is there a step-by-step for exporting files that include camera animation from Modo (10.2 v4) to Octane Render Standalone (2020.2)?
I have looked far and wide and have yet to find help!
Thank you,
Josh

Ah! I didn't realize it might be that simple. I will see if that does it. Thank you!

How can I stop an animated camera from auto-focusing?
Hi all,
I'm using Octane Render Standalone to try to render cameras animated with Modo (currently exporting FBX).
My camera moves translate just fine, but the camera auto focuses on different objects throughout its move through the scene.
Is there a way to fix its focal depth? Or even better, is ...

Re: Why do I have to scale my Displacement Map?
I'll definitely upgrade if it's free, if not, I'll have to wait. Will upgrading to v4.05 solve the problem?
I've figured out what the problem seems to be: I usually set my textures to a Box projection, and the image I use for displacement is treated as if I have set it to use the Mesh UVs (and not ...

Why do I have to scale my Displacement Map?
Hi all,
This is driving me crazy. I've found that when I increase the height of my Displacement map, the UV image scales up too. So I have to compensate by reducing its scale in the UV transform boxes.
If I'm using a material from Megascans, shouldn't everything line up perfectly? What is ...

Standalone Hot Keys??
Hi all.
Does anyone know if there are hot keys for Octane actions (other than the basics... e.g. ctrl+n fo new)?
I'd love to be able to hit "ctrl+alt+c" to drop in a color correction node or "ctrl+r" to drop in a ridged fractal node.
Does anyone know if these keys exist, or if there is a way to ...

Why is my camera slow near the origin?
Hi all!
My camera movement gets slower and slower the closer I get to the origin. I have to lift and drag my mouse over and over just to move a fraction of an inch.
I'm sure this is a function of scale, but I don't know how to work around it.
Thank you for any help and suggestions!

Where did my 'Baking Texture' option go??
Hi all,
I right-clicked in my node graph, and suddenly my 'baking texture' option is gone! (see attached)
This is a major bummer because it's preventing me from using a lot of displacement techniques I love.
Thank you for any insight!
