Hi there. I've been trying to get the polygon side procedural to work on a closed mesh, where the polygons facing outwards are transparent and the inside face is opaque (like you flipped a closed cylinder in modeller).
The polygon side renders as expected on a plane. Test surface, pink on one side ...

Re: OctaneRender 2020.1 LightWave Production build 2020.1.4.0
Has anyone experienced an increase in firefly's in 2020? I've been updating a project that had last been rendered using 2019.1.5.0 LW11.6.3 and in both 2020.1.0.7 and 2020.1.4.0 there are now lots of firefly's. I have reverted to the 2019 plugin and the firefly's are gone. Cheers.

Re: OctaneRender 2019.1 LightWave Production build 2019.1.2.0
Is there a bug with using displacement and bump/colour texture with a different UV set for each?
My bump and colour map as intended until I connect the displacement. Then the bump and colour are mapped using the displacement UV set.
Edit.
Ok, so the displacement has to be set 1 and bump etc set 2 ...

I still have an issue with the layered material, in LW 11.6.
layering a specular material over a glossy results in black; no transmission.

Re: OctaneRender 2019.1 LightWave Production build 2019.1.0.5
Is anyone else having issues with the layered material nodes?
2 diffuse layers, layer 1 is green, layer 2 orange. Reducing the opacity of layer 2 results in the material getting darker (like layer 1 is black) instead of the material getting greener... This was working ok in the last version.

Re: Get light to shine from underneath plastic?
Why not fake it and mix a glossy (for main surface) with a diffuse with emission? Animate the mix to turn on and off. No SSS and no risk of any artifacting.
The glow can be tuned by adding some blur to the mix control texture.
