Honestly, I feel it's broken. A few versions ago it clearly did *something *with edge detection and upsample like those online ai upsample tools.
Now it just outputs a bilinear upscale image, with no benefits whatsoever.
It makes no sense that this would only work on preview when 'upscale on ...

Instancing hierachy not working?
Is it a known issue that Octane does not render the hierarchy of an instanced item?
You know, when 'instance hierarchy' is on in the Lw instance panel? At least with me, it doesn't.

Re: Save depth map while rendering beauty pass
I guess I am not aware of this function?
I'll take a look, thanks, might be just what I need!

Re: Crsh with Multthreaded scene extraction
It is the latest version, but I am using 2019, because 2020 crashes with Octane material conversion, and it rotates my oriented instances 90 degrees.
I have also tested 2020, but that crashed as well.
I will send the scene through PM.

Save depth map while rendering beauty pass
Silly question perhaps, but it seemsto me that using the kernel so save out things like the Depth map, you have to render an entirely seperate run?
Is there way to do this while rendering using the other kernels? Or that's just how it is?
Problem with my scene is, it's not so much the render time ...

Crsh with Multthreaded scene extraction
I have a LW crash with the latest version of the plugin when opening IPR. The crash disappears when I disable the new 'multithread scene extraction'.
I'll gladly send a packaged scene. It's pretty huge though. Where should I send it to?

Re: Hide source instancing object in Octane?
Yeah, so as I said, that doesn't work in my case.
I hope a solution for this becomes available.

Re: Hide source instancing object in Octane?
Hi Juanjgon,
No, any modification done to the master object will permeate to the instances.
It would be lovely to have a tickbox in the Custom Object plugin that just disables the object itself while the instances are still visisble. You referred to that being a possibility in some thread.
For now ...

Hide source instancing object in Octane?
Hi gents. Octane instancing question here.
You can't use Dissolve to hide the original instanced object with Octane like you would with LW.
So, usually, you use local coordinates in the instancer, and then move it out of the way.
But, I want to use a wind-like displacement map to send it through ...
