Re: Cinema4D version 2025.1 Build 0104

The issue was identified and will be fixed in the next release of Octane Standalone, as it is a core bug.
To workaround this issue currently, the simplest way I found was to just have at least one more info pass in your AOV manager enabled.
For example a Object ID AOV or a Material ID AOV (those ...

Re: Random lines

-Do you use network rendering or multiple gpus?
-Does ray epsilon change the appearance or location of the line?
-Does camera movement have an effect?

Re: Cinema4D version 2025.1 Build 0104

Thanks Chris, looking forward to using the new Real Lenses. Are there also plans to further expand the lens flare post options since the lenses got this much attention?

Re: Problem with Motionblur

Hi,

I changed the following settings;

Octane render settings:
Time sampling p Frame -> 1

Camera tag:
Alignment-> Center

Object Tag:
Motion data -> Transform

I also changed the frame range, and continue motion so the animation will start generating motion blur data from f-50, even though ...

Region tool border color

Hi,

A question for the Octane devs: Would it be possible to include an option to change the color and transparency of the region tool border? The red rectangle is quite distracting, and I would prefer to have a slider setting to make it less visible or maybe something like a visibility checkbox in ...

Re: Octane Mix Material and how to render it into Material ID?

Hi Bepe,

Can you list the issues the Mix material has? I use these extensively, and have a lot of Mix materials in my library which would be quite a task to redo in Composite.

Re: Help Understanding Error Log - CUDA Error 700

For me this sounds like not enough VRAM to handle the scene. Especially looking at the log

Frame 8:

VRAM used/free/max:5.687Gb/ 481Mb /10Gb Out-of-core used:1.591Gb RAM used:44.905Gb total:63.883Gb OpenGL free/total:0/0

481Mb shouldn't crash but is close enough for me to remove some stuff in the ...

Re: Volume Emission mat - 'Visible On' settings not working

Thanks for the suggestion. Raytype was also something I thought of using, but the volume medium inside of the octane tag isn't a full material (so no opacity slot). The scene is included in the zip in OP btw.

As for now I think render layers will be the way to go and just do a separate render for ...

Re: Volume Emission mat - 'Visible On' settings not working

The intention is to have the cylinder (light) not illuminating other objects (the sphere). The reason why I'm using the volume setup is because I'm looking to have something akin to a laser beam setup, and used to do a falloff shading to soften the edges. The volume has a nice feathering from ...
