Hi!
Is there any update about this?
No update on Octane side, but it will not be much different than using C4D's displacement effector. Eventually this is vertex based displacement.
The displacer effector doesn't work if you want very small details, I normally use texture displacement for that ...

near clipping issue / ortographic camera
near clipping.jpg
I have an orthographic camera on scene, and as you can see in the viewport even if it is not active the near clipping, the image is cut (you can see the floor plane is not complete)
I have already done an animation where is now the blue cube, so I cannot make everything smaller ...

Re: Orthographic camera problem for isometric renders
I always have the same issue, it would be great to have a properly "isometric" tag that matches the viewport under octane camera settings.
By the way I found this on the website:

Re: Using vertex map with Hair and displacement
Octane support has answered.
Cinema 4d Vertex Map fields are not supported yet for displacement or hair "growing", you have to make an b&w baking first.
Hope this can be solved in the near future, vertex map fields are great in c4d.

Re: Using vertex map with Hair and displacement
Hi again,
I've made some tests but still nothing,
Captura de pantalla 2023-04-06 000929.jpg
I see the only way it can works is with guides, not hairs, but, the problem is that octane can place the hairs in the right place with a vertex map, but it doesn't maintain that growing effect, so hair ...

Using vertex map with Hair and displacement
Hello there,
I want to make some animations with vertex map and I found that I'm not able to render in octane properly:
A. With hair . I'm trying to use vertex map with "hair density" inside "hair material", and even on "guides" place in "hair tag", but none of this are updating on render viewer ...

material that avoid lighting of emissive material
Hi there!
I have an emissive material applied in an object and another object near it that has a subsurface scattering material.
I don't want that emissive material lighting affect the other object, is this possible?
Oh and I cannot use a light instead that emissive material.
Thank you!
