You need 2020.1.4 for full S22 support.
Which version have you installed?
Please note that you need to remove from the c4doctane folder, all the unnecessary c4doctane-RXX.cdl64/xdlib files not related with S22 specific versions, and leave only one c4doctane-S22.xdlib file in Program files/Maxon/C4D ...

Does Octane not work with CINEMA 4D S22.118?

C4D starting up keeps looping and does not work

Cinema 4D S22 and Octoane 2020.1.4 is not starting up anymore.
If i remove the Octane plugin folder everything works fine.
Rolled back to version 2019.1.5-R3 but no luck
Any suggestions?

Another thing to mention, if that is not obvious, keep an eye on temperatures during rendering. In some cases You can loose a lot of performance, like pointed in this post:

My octane benchmark v4 run seems to be quit slow : 145

RTX 2070 8Gb
MSI MEG X399 Creation mobo
64 gb ddr4
AMD Threadripper 2950X

Any ideas to speed things up as average is around 200 in the Octane Benchmarks results page.

Octane render is a GPU render engine; CPU works to send information to the GPU when compiling the file.
My advice is to choose a CPU that offers more PCIe lanes with high clock, and invest money in GPUs and Ram.
