I've had the same problem.
After a bit of testing it was the "INSTANCE" cryptomatte that make Octane crash. You have to get rid of it.
All the others cryptomatte outputs are working. I use to use the INSTANCE as well, I thought it was quite handy, but would not give any consistent output.
If ...

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
thanks Aoktar !
RegSquires,
yeah I understand... that's mainly why I switch to PC for my 3D work.
but the no-GUI version works for you right ?
That's a pretty good workaround isn't it ?

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
So far so good, worked on 3 different scenes.
I'll let you know if something else happens but this really is perfect timing for the end of my project.
Great to hear because I did it as a work-around for issues from this thread.
Too me it's more than a workaround, it's so much more convenient ...

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
Dude this works beautifully, and exports much faster as well.
I tested it on my tricky scene and it just works perfectly.
Testing on other scenes now.
Test build
There's new option in render settings to export ORBX. DON'T FORGET to disable the image saving in render settings! Use "Ignore rendering ...

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
I can confirm that ORBX export from C4D does create jerky animation. I followed these instructions and the output animation works perfectly. This is a confirmed bug I think and I hope OTOY or Maxon or both can look at the issue because it's a real buzz kill.

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
For me I've never spotted that before because I wasn't using RNDR and always using C4D to export.
But now that I have that tight deadline I wanted to try it, and at the moment my workaround is to export from R24, but looks like it doesn't for in R23 for some people so I really don't know ...

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
yes... I don't get it.
I've tried everything before and it just didn't work. But my other projects are still not working.
I'll send you a video and log of the export

Re: Corrupt export to ORBX: all animated objects are jerking
Ok, so far for me in S24 and Octane 2021 it works.
So it's definitely a R25 thing in my case, I'm not sure what it is, I've tried exporting from the standard layout as well with no luck.
So for now if you experience this problem and want to export in .ORBX, have a go at Cinema4D S24, it has worked ...
