Re: Unable to enter password to activate slave daemon
I just wanted to add - I had the same issue when trying to run a slave node with Octane 2025.4. The terminal let me put in my username, but when it asked for password it wouldn't accept an input (even though the cursor was flashing) - a very strange error. I solved it by installing Standalone and ...

Ah brilliant! Thank you Beppe. I should have looked more closelybepeg4d wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:19 am The installation path is the correct and preferred one.
If you install it in Preferences path it is user dependent.
The issue is that you have kept the wrong .xlib file for C4D R26, instead of 2026:

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
Thanks for responding. I'm running Sequoia (15.6.1) and the plugins are installed in the correct location, as far as I'm aware (without duplicates for the wrong version of C4D). Here's a screen grab of the directory showing them in place:

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
I've finally made the Apple Silicon transition for my main workstation and now running a very nice M4 Max system. I'm trying to get Octane on there (with Cinema 4D) and it doesn't seem to be working. I've downloaded the plugins and installed them into the C4D plugins folder, but nothing shows up ...

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
Is there a x86 version of Octane for Cinema 4D on Mac OS? It seems to only list the ARM version in downloads. Since we're stuck waiting for Apple to pull their finger out and update the Mac Studio to a new SOC (still currently based on M2), there's no point me upgrading from my current beefy intel ...

Re: Long live Lightwave!
It's incredibly good news. Obviously, it's going to take some time to get everything in place (including a new development team) but I hope this announcement means the Octane plugin for Lightwave will continue to be developed (and improves!)

Re: Assets from Lightwave to C4D with Octane materials?
One of the problems might be that the C4D integration of Octane uses its own custom node editor, for which there's no third-party API to access (I assume). If the Octane integration switched to C4D's native nodal system, it might make it a bit easier to write a conversion utility/script (eg. in ...

Re: LW 2021 plugin, where are you?
Thanks for the update Juan. It's not exactly surprising, but it's still incredibly sad to see the demise of Lightwave. Sure, LW was a creaky beast in some areas, but there's still so many unique features and workflows that exist in it that don't exist in other 3D apps (or not as well).

Re: Cinema4D version 2020.2-RC6 (Release candicate) 29.12.2020
I seem to have hit on a strange bug - rendering with the PMC kernal freezes the render when it tries to denoise. But if I switch to Pathtracing - it works.

Re: materials conversion causing an instant crash
Thanks Juanjo, good to know it's not just my machine! Hope you manage to find a solution (and that there's still any developers left working on Lightwave who can fix issues with the SDK!)
