Did you ever get anywhere further with this? Also still interested and there seems to be zero documentation out there. Don't understand how/why those demos were released all that time ago but then never revisited.. a confusing strategy!

Is it possible to play back filmed video content at 18K using this method? What would the workflow entail... mapping to a sphere in 3D software and rendering this with a spherical camera using octane?
