Thought I'd want to post this up for anyone using C4D.
I don't often render using the render queue, and rather just render using the picture viewer.
However, in the latest project I'm working I'm using the render queue because I have multiple shots to render at a time and I'm seeing them ...

Z-Depth Ignores depth max when placed in AOV Group
This has been driving me nuts for a little bit. I've seen a few posts here where people have been using AOV groups to comp on fast fog.
I've followed the post guides to a T and I can't seem to get it to work. Technique uses an opacity map with a z depth set as a mask. When I set the Z depth values ...

Re: Another Motion Vectors Issue Post...
Makes sense, just to have the most information possible linear32bit seems the way to go.
However when I render linear I get some wild results that look absolutely nothing like the octane live viewer.
My linear image looks clipped very much like how the user's example image was in that linked ...

Another Motion Vectors Issue Post...
I've searched for the last few hours and cannot for the life of me get this to work.
this post illustrates my issue but the solve in this post doesn't give me the same result.

Re: Feature request: Histogram
Actually I've always wondered if something like this was possible. Would be super useful to see exactly where the white points are and what's clipping in a 32bit linear colorspace.

Re: Exporting Model for conversion to gtlf with Octane Material
sorry to highjack but How exactly do you even export the materials? Whenever I try to export my glTF from c4d it never includes the materials. Is there some documentation that clearly outlines this?

Re: Mograph Shader Effector Causing LONG Collect Times
So I did more digging into the file. Turns out that the shader had nothing to do with the render time.
I ended up doubling the density of the cells on the mosaic element, which for some reason turned my collect times from 1-2sec to 20+sec.
I ended up working around by just creating a plane with ...

Mograph Shader Effector Causing LONG Collect Times
Did some searching but couldn't find a concise answer.
I'm rendering a scene that has a mograph shader effector on it, a couple actually. One to offset some clones, the other to control the alpha/scale-1 of the clones.
This is part of a huge array of cells in a video wall, a mosaic of a person ...

Re: Layer Masks With DOF and Motion Blur
Just wondering where crytpomatte even exists within C4D? Is it something that I have to get first? Very limited documentation about it that I can find.aoktar wrote:I think that cryptomatte is a solution for this case.
