Re: Help With Octane Volumetric Object
the resolution has nothing to do with max grid value in that case....
this fix just uses emission instead of setting up a ramp

Re: Possible to apply a curve to emission mapping
I think part of the problem is my TFD sim is scaled from 600 to 2300 for temp....pretty standard for TFD
Whereas octane likes 2000 to 7000
EDIT:
That should be compensated for by the emission scaling in the octane_volumetrics properties...
But the numbers make no sense....scaling 600 to fall into ...

Possible to apply a curve to emission mapping
Perhaps this is best considered a feature request, as I dont think there is any way to do this currently
I think we need a curve to map emission to match anything resembling TFD emissions
For instance here is an image with a properly scaled emission

Re: Procedural Volume not working?
I got it now....
I thought the absorption/scattering texture input was optional as it the rest of volume nodes.....was expecting to see a sphere or a cube without them.
Thanks

Havent had any success with the procedural volume node....tried it with nulls, meshes....every setting....seems to have no effect.
Is this working in the lightwave plug?
Thanks

Re: GPU recommendations
Ooops wrong Titan
TitanZ is by far the captain of the ship....
But I did say it outperforms the 980 and 780ti, I didnt actually mention the 980ti...
the point was power for price though...and if ram isnt an issue...nothing beats a 590 on price/performance
