Re: 2021.1.6 (R5) materials are black in viewport
Same! I had to switch everything to cinema 4d materials for hardware render to not have black textures.

Re: ~100 Mb of Octane render settings in my C4D project?
I got an answer from Maxon, Octane is not to blame!
This is a known issue and has to do with projects being created in older releases of Cinema 4D with custom render settings.
The easy workaround is to delete the custom render settings and then do a ctrl+z to bring them back. That's it!

~100 Mb of Octane render settings in my C4D project?
I have this C4D/Octane project that takes SUPER long to save relative to its file size (45 sec for 200 Mb)
Curious to find the cause, I deleted everything in the object manager and saved a copy. The result was still a 126 Mb file.
Then I deleted the render settings, and the result was a 18 Mb file ...

Re: Using BC compression on image sequences crash
A weird thing happened. I already had a scene prepared (C4D Octane Sequence compression.zip), and it was crashing instantaneously as soon as it tried to make the node preview when BC1 + animation was enabled. It crashed just now and I generated the attached bug report as requested.
But now I can't ...

Using BC compression on image sequences crash
I found out that using BC compression on an image texture that loads a sequence makes all kinds of problems:
Animation is not playing at render time
Node preview will crash C4D

Re: Octane 4 - Denoiser closes Cinema 4D towards end of render
We are having the same problem, using Deadline.
Deactivating the Denoiser fixes the crashing. Thing is, we're rendering a 4000x4000 frame but it still crashes on machines with 64 GB of ram...

Re: "Skip already existing files" Not Working Correctly
I tried using it and failed as well. Too bad because that would be a neat way to distribute render on a renderfarm, everybody rendering to the same network storage.

Re: 1 .ocs file per Frame instead of .orbx (animated package
Bumping into the same issue here, trying to set up Deadline. I am also a syntaxe dumbass but I'll post our solution if our IT team figures it out.
