The falloff map is a blend node between 2 textures/colors which depends on the viewing angle. The skew factor is where you define how strong the angle effect is. Set up a mix texture, put the falloff map in the Amount and the two colors in the textures.
You can also use the falloff map in the ...

Re: Lightsaber Effect?
with separate inner and outer rod the color will only interfere when emission value is high, use 1-3 as power with surface brightness enabled.
To get a smoother transition, you can use a gradient or falloff node in the opacit in the outer rod and a gradient in the emission color.

Lightsaber Effect?
I was if people have come up with a decent way to do the glow effect of a lightsaber. Something that can be customized depending on the saber color. After all, there are Sabers that have a black interior color with a outer glow color. I was thinking about having it as an interior rod which glows the ...

Object invisible to specific light?
Okay, I have a three point lighting system I am using, one behind and two in front. The one behind is close to the floor and keeps giving too much light on the floor. Is it possible to make the floor invisible to that specific light (it's pointing up, so it's not creating shadows on the floor as it ...

Volumetric clouds/fog
I have been looking for some ideas on this. What I want is literally a cloud that I can play with the 'thickness' of to make it almost a fog like consistency and be able to have it look like a cloud in terms of shape. I know there's a way to do that with an entire area in the environment area, but I ...

Re: Water/Sweat/Oil Skin addons
If you have Octane 2020, you can add a layer directly.
In Octane 4 you can create a mix material - use your normal skin node in material 1 and your specular layer for oil/water in material 2. Use the value operator to manage the strength.

Re: Water/Sweat/Oil Skin addons
Okay, I am going to give my thoughts on how this could be accomplished in an abstract way, but not the actual detailed ways, as I still can't work those out in my head.

Water/Sweat/Oil Skin addons
Anyone had any luck, or know of any tutorials to make sweat droplets on skin easy, or giving a skin an oiled look? I have seen the recent addon for Daz, but was hoping to see something like it for Octane, maybe even one that will work for both Poser and Daz.
