Re: Multipass layers completely black
The problem still happens even when I add more AOVs.
To be clear, it is exporting the AOVs correctly to the folder, but in the Picture Viewer when I select Layer > Single Pass, all AOVs are just showing black, so none of them can be previewed during the render process.

Having the exact same problem as the OP - any AOVs are showing black in the Picture Viewer but correct in the Live Viewer.

Scatter with animated vertex map?
Hi guys,
I have been trying to use an animated vertex map to drive and grow scattered objects on a surface, but I cant seem to get it to work at all.
It seems that any way I try to use an animated vertex map (directly in the Vertex map assignment inside scatter / through a shader effector / with a ...

Hi guys,
Im also having this issue and it doesnt seem to be resolved when I change the BRDF type from Octane and the Material type to Glossy - what am I missing here?

Re: C4D crash when saving denoise pass with large resolution
Hey Ron,
We were experiencing the same issue, but managed to get it to work on large files, at least without denoiser - go into your Devices tab in Octane setting and uncheck all of the 'Use for denoising' boxes for each of your GPUs and it should now work.
We are still experiencing the crashes ...

Re: Octane resets render priority to "HIGH"
We are also experiencing this issue and are using 4.01.1-R2 on C4D.
Every time you open Octane settings it has reverted back to PRIORITY_HIGH even without closing C4D.
Any way to stop this would be appreciated.

Re: PV crashes when saving passes enabled
Another update - ive been using it all day and it crashed twice on me - both times when I was trying to use an internet browser at the same time as it was rendering a sequence - I could then repeat the crash by basically trying to use another app like a web browser or mail, while it renders.

Re: PV crashes when saving passes enabled
Another update - after scouring many forums and threads I think I have found a solution:
I enabled Above 4G Decoding in my BIOS settings and for the last hour or so - no crashes.
The setting is supposed to be for recognising more than 4 GPUs, but it seems to have done the trick - fingers crossed ...
