Ok, I did that, but we have a serious issue now. The light shows up black behind the glass.
This seems like a bug to me.
However, what seems to work is taking the Opacity down to 0. With the previous plug-in, that would remove the light, but now it simply makes the black square go away which is ...

Re: Light showing up in reflection, but 'not seen by camera.'
Hmm, I don't have that checkbox on my Octane LightTag.
I don't have Visible on diffuse either or transparent emission.
Maybe my Octane version is off.
On the live viewer, it says 3.06-TEST4.1
That TEST may be the issue.

Light showing up in reflection, but 'not seen by camera.'
Hi,
This seems like a bug to me,but maybe it's not.
I have some lights set up to light a few photos on a wall.
Between the lights and the camera is a piece of glass.
If the glass comes between the light and the camera (which is how the animation works) then I can see the reflection of the light ...

Re: Difficulty with render layers
OK, I'm not seeing any options for color under "Visible Environment."
I just need 'alpha' there or some way to show a different color/texture that doesn't affect the lighting of the scene.
This has been really confusing.
You can see what my alpha is doing by the attached image.

Re: Difficulty with render layers
Thanks, but I'm not sure how to set that up or what you mean?
Right now, I'm using a Sky Object, not an Environment Object.
Are you saying I need to have 2 Environment Objects in my project?
I tried duplicating my Sky Object and applying the settings you suggested, but it didn't work.

Difficulty with render layers
Hi,
I'm working on a project where I need to remove the HDRI from the background. It works great, except that I have some glass in front of the background and am fairly clueless on how to get the HDRI background removed from behind the 'glass.'
In the attached image, you can see white areas behind ...

Re: AO only when rendering to file, IPR shows color.
OK, I don't know what was causing it to happen, but I created a new octane_rendertarget node and adjusted the settings to match my original node and it is giving me color files once again.
Maybe something became corrupted. Not sure. But I'm back in 'business.'

Re: AO only when rendering to file, IPR shows color.
Here is what I am seeing.
This is straight from the ROP either IPR launch from the ROP or render frame to disk from the ROP.

AO only when rendering to file, IPR shows color.
Hi,
This just started happening yesterday.
I haven't changed anything that I know of, but for some reason, when I render to disk, I get an ambient occlusion render with no color or detail, but when I open the IPR I get the full color image I'm expecting.
