Re: Volume Z-Depth Front - Back
To answer your question; you need the Zdepth pass, not the volume front and back. You use the volume front and back when you have placed an actual volume in your scene. When not using a volume, and you're just trying to get some faint fog in your scene with the depth pass, that's all you need. Make ...

Re: Octane Xparticles Cinema4d Motion Blur problems!
Is there an alternative that you could suggest that would work to achieve the same effect? I just need to have lines wrapping around a form...aoktar wrote:You can't get mblur with this option if objects have non-constant vertex count

Octane Xparticles Cinema4d Motion Blur problems!
Hi,
I'm running into this issue here where my xpTrails won't render motion blur. I tried rendering with xpSplinemesher and still no luck. I tried setting to transform/vertex speed in the Octane Object and no luck. The only thing that is successful with motion blur is the xpEmitter.

xparticles rendering issues in Octane
Hi,
I followed the help doc to get my particles to have a color based on Display Color. (AGE, SPEED, ETC. DO NOT WORK). I'd really like Age, speed, and other color modes to work as well on my particles.
But that note aside, I'd really like to color my trails to be the same color as the color of the ...

Re: Vector Pass Issues
Hi.
Has this been fixed? I'm experiencing the same issues. I'm rendering out of Blender Octane, and my motion vector pass is doing bizarre things. I'm not sure if I fully understand what Calus was saying above...
I'd really like my motion vectors passes out of Octane to work in Nuke.

Blender-No Net GPUs
Hi,
I have the full enterprise version of Blender. I also have a slave node.
My master machine is running Blender 2.82 octane build, and my slave is also running the same slave node.
I have 2 RTX 2080 Ti's on my master, and one eGPU on my laptop that has another RTX 2080 Ti plugged in ...

Octane 4 + C4d R21 issues
Hi all,
I had some issue with the Enable A/B compare. Posting image below. I double checked everything. The right side is the "stored render", the left is the current render, what it should it look like. When I store any render, it lightens it, as if it is applying sRGB or linear conversion twice ...

VDB troubles in 3ds max+octane
Hey guys,
I have octane for both 3ds max and cinema4d. I was able to render some VDB stuff from houdini easily in cinema. I changed absorption color, scattering, density, all that with easy menus.
However, in 3ds max, nothing I have done changes the cloud color/absorption/scattering.
In max, I only ...

C4D Octane crashing + Cannot turn post off
Hi guys,
Just downloaded octane. Spent the day watching tutorials. At one point, I turned on the Post settings on my render and played around with it.
Eventually, Octane crashed cinema4d. When I re-opened, my renders now all have the "post" effects applied, even if I go and turn them off, or try to ...
