Re: Error when trying to save .orbx

It worked when I tried rendering current frame. Then I tried the start from frame 2 trick I saw elsewhere and that did not work, also tried restarting houdini after. EDIT: I also tried creating a new ROP and still no luck doing more than 1 frame.

Re: Error when trying to save .orbx

Thanks @juanjgon for the quick reply. I went to clean up the project for you and found some extra nodes I was not using and deleted them and now the error is gone. However I still get no .orbx files, just a folder with .abc and .vdbs (which are also incrementing strangely like

Error when trying to save .orbx

Hello, this is my first time trying to export orbx from houdini, I am getting alembic and .vdb files from my project but no .orbx and getting this error

Octane API: "Cannot export two channels with the same ID but different offsets"

I'm sure I can fix if I knew what exactly the message is in ...

Re: Cinema 4D version 2018.1

thanks aoktar, but
Where is the demo version of the 'final version 2018.1'?
The new license system Otoy is insane. :|
I'll prepare demo versions asap too. We'll see what happens! But this said since it's a test version.

Why should I trust you in working v5
Interesting doubt to who wrote this ...

Re: Cinema 4D version 2018.1-RC6.1 (Test version)

I am also crashing when using either VDB loader or Volume Generator. Either I get a bugreport (no octane error) or will freeze forever and not respond.

I attached a zip with both the bugreport, scene file, and vdb file I am trying to load (though again it also crashes as soon as I create an octane ...

Re: Nice atmospherics?

I'm not sure what aspects of that render you're interested in but it seems like a lot of what looks nice about it is probably post-effects blooming and highlight glows that are probably not fog related.

That said in my experience playing with the phase parameter is important in octane to getting a ...

Hi Juanjo! Thanks for the prompt response. You are right I missed the /bin addition to one of the .env file paths. Seems to work fine now!

Re: Emission material inside a glass material.

Why try to do all that in one material/object? You could either use particles or clones or even a trimmed sweep object inside the glass tubes to generate the emission. Another option would be to use the vertex map to drive a mix material that combines the glass material with a simple emissive one.

Re: Hair Variation? (Octane Object Tag)

Thanks! Which samples are you referring to, though? I have the xpTrail scenes you posted and I think they're uniformly thick.
Hair scenes. You don't need any examples. Just add a hair object to your scene.

Aoktar, I'm curious then if using a hair object whether it's possible to have differently ...
