Re: Fork Blender

If you are license owner I think you can ask Otoy for Blender's code.

Blender 2.8 is still beta. The plans for integrating it are after it is officially released.

Octane integration into Blender 2.8 will start before the official release, so we can have it ready and tested as Blender 2.8 will be ...

Re: Fork Blender

Thank you for this information.

So when a 2.8 version would be released, we could build blender every day if there is no error in the code?

Are there any plans for 2.8?

Fork Blender

I'm wondering why it is necessary to do a fork of blender.

Can someone explain why this is done?

If it is because of the GPL license, would it be possible for users to build their own blender?
Or is there already sensible code in the fork, that cant be distributed?

We would like to switch to ...

Re: Version 3.07-R2 (Latest stable) update on 01.11.2017

Alright. So if im right, the developing of octane is still on older drivers?

Maybe it would be useful to put the recommended driver versions on the release posts :)

cheers

Re: Version 3.07-R2 (Stable) update on 01.11.2017

Hi DanielPaul,
do you mind to try to roll back to 383.13, or even 382.33 with a clean installation?
ciao beppe

hey Beppe,

we have problems with new drivers above 383 or 384. Im not shure.
Looks like all gpus are used for raytracing, even when the displaycard is disabled for rendering.
There is ...

Strange Viewport Performance Problems

hey guys,

we have currently some strange performance problems moving aroung the viewport when using the liveviewer. Result is that the viewport is ultra slow and laggy. And when turning off the liveviewer all runs smooth again.
Even when having a scene containing only a cube and an texture ...

Re: Version 3.07-R2 (Stable) update on 01.11.2017

Hey beppe,

thx for the tip. Im unable to install 382 because win installs 384.94 directly after reboot.
But with this version it works fine, buttery smooth feedback in all viewports while rendering.

cheers
Daniel

Re: Version 3.07-R2 (Stable) update on 01.11.2017

After installing 3.07 R2 on every machine, we noticed much lower fps in our 3D applications while rendering with octane slave daemons.

We set our octane slaves to use only 2x 1080 TI, 1x titan x is for viewport exclusive (alsomost no usage maybe 1-5% but still laggy).
3.06 does not have this ...

Re: Max GPUs per master?

Thanks beppe,

sadly its forbidden for us to upload data/scenes from our clients to the cloud.

Do you know when this limit is raised?

Cheers Daniel
