Re: export scene / orbx materials to different program / render engine
Thanks for the response BK!
Major bummer on the not being able to export currently... wasn't the materialx announcement a few years back supposed to fix this?
Thanks again!
Thank you Baxley,
Yeah, it is a bummer aye! It would be best to check earlier if they use Octane.

Re: export scene / orbx materials to different program / render engine
Hello!
I'm handing off a scene I've built in maya with orbx materials to a previz company... I'm assuming they dont use octane so hoping to export an FBX / USD / OBJ with materials maintained... is this possible? Currently when I try, all the orbx materials end up a default lambert 1.

Re: Color Space Issues
Thanks for the quick replies. That did work, however it changes my lighting completely. I have experience with Octane in Modo and Cinema4D and I am trying to match the lighting in my Maya scene to the same scene I have in Modo. Before I set maya to linear in the imager everything besides the ...

AI Light switch on Path tracing kernel node is not working.
Hi BorisGoreta,
Thank you for the post..
Would you please share a sample scene for us to investigate?
cheers
Here is the test scene. Changing the AI Light check in the Path tracing kernel doesn't do anything.

Re: OctaneRender for HoudiniSolaris 2026.4.0.0
Hi there again, sorry for posting so much, but I keep finding more things that I feel aren't working.
I've been spending more time exploring Octane for Solaris, and the more I use it, the more I find features that are missing or don't integrate well with the Solaris workflow.
One example is ...

Re: OctaneRender for HoudiniSolaris 2026.4.0.0
Hi there,
I'm working on a scene where you can see the "Visibility" issues because the original scene couldn't be shared with you. I wiil send you very soon.
Meanwhile, I'm experiencing a new bug/crash with Octane and particles. The crash occurs every time I start the IPR in Solaris, before the ...

Re: OctaneRender for HoudiniSolaris 2026.4.0.0
I honestly do not understand the current state of the Octane integration with Solaris. Too many exposed features simply do not work or behave inconsistently.
For example:
Particle size settings inside Render Geometry Settings do not work.
Hair width, curve type, and other curve-related ...
