So I'm a bit confused, someone please explain exactly how the Denoiser works please?
From my understanding, which I'm sure is wrong:
The Ai denoiser lets you lower the Samples you want for a scene (I think default is around 16k?) allowing you to utilize a faster render time, but in lieu of a ...

Re: Gradient texture map
I realized I'm unbelievably late, but I have the answer :O

What I did was take a standard texture (or whatever you want) and apply a Greyscale to the diffuse, in the Greyscale I took the "Texture" option and applied the "Gradient ramp" to it, that gave me the ramp i ...

Texture Emission + Gaussian + Volume medium
Hey all, image attached, just FYI. So i've been learning that Gaussian spectrum is significantly better at getting a more balanced look from a volume when dealing with a texture emission, I can't seem to get it to work, I only get a dull grey light.
How can I solve this?

Having trouble with Displacement maps
I'm 90% sure it's just something I"m doing, but I want to drop a displacement map on some objects, and I do it by creating a diffuse texture, creating a displacement node and going to either "Grayscale" Or "RGB Image" but neither cause a displacement to appear on the object. I was told I need to ...

Rendering and export / Secondary concern
Hello, I'm extremely new to this all. I mapped out an animation completely FumeFX smoke in 3ds Max, I noticed the render didn't match in positioning, so I moved my workflow over to Octane Standalone, Now, there are two things I'm curious about. and I sincerely apologize because I know it's a stupid ...

Re: fumefx octane v3
Right, but I don't have any Vdb's on my computer, do I need to export my FUmefx simulation AS a vdb? if so, how can I do that?
