Re: Cannot activate GPU (gtx 1070)
I just installed version 3.03.4 - 4.20 but now I cannot license the product! When go to the downloads section I only see version 3.02 - 3.17.
What is going on here?!?
I'm going to have to use F-storm or something else if I can't find a fix for this soon!
Thanks again for your help Paride, it feels ...

Re: Cannot activate GPU (gtx 1070)
Thanks!
I think I only have plugin version 2.... - 3...., the 3-4 option wasn't available so it sounds like that may be the issue.
I'll try it as soon as I get into the studio.

Re: Cannot activate GPU (gtx 1070)
The latest versions, downloaded today. 3.something or other... 3dsmax 2015
I have not tried with the standalone yet as I gave never used it but I'll try to run the benchmark tool when I get into the studio.
Thanks again

Re: Cannot activate GPU (gtx 1070)
Thanks for your reply, good point. Ill update details when I have a permanent setup.
Current setup is i7 6700k 2x msi gtx 1070 windows 10. Running on max 2015.
I installed latest nvidia drivers and uninstalled and reinstalled octane standalone and plug in but no luck.

Cannot activate GPU (gtx 1070)
Hi,
I have just moved my license to a new pc with windows 10 but haven't been able to get octane working.
When I hit render I just get a black screen, when I use octane live viewport I just get black screen and 'scene evaluating'.
I looked the devices section and noticed that the 2x 1070s are not ...

Re: No Anisotropy? No texture interpolation settings???
Ok I managed to create a good brushed / machined material now.
For anyone else finding the same problem, use a normal map! The difference between bump and normal maps in octane is much greater than in other software for this micro geometry.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Whersmy, I'm still curious ...

Re: No Anisotropy? No texture interpolation settings???
Thanks whersmy, what would I import using .orbx?
Thanks Goldisart. I agree that an anisotropic effect is possible using this technique but the interpolation smooths out the texture too much.
You have to crank the bump up way too much and even then it the texture looks coarse and like it has a glossy ...

No Anisotropy? No texture interpolation settings???
Hi all,
I am a new user of octane but previously used corona and Maxwell.
I am trying to create a brushed metal effect, both linear and radial.
I was very disappointed to see the lack of anisostropy... I have read other posts on this forum about anisotropy and people haves uggested instead using ...
