Re: Lightmixer AOL

Hi,
The Value Texmap are currently badly interfering with the Light mixer AOL texture.
Sorry about that. That will be fixed in the next release.
For now, this should be disabled (Octane preferences, Material Tab : 'Activate Value Texmaps' set to 'Never').

Thanks Elvissuperstar007, having user ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.10

Hi neonZorglub,

It seems that VDB still provides the best quality compared to native tyFlow support. Is there any way to create a built-in VDB conversion so that, on every frame, Octane automatically converts tyFlow to VDB and then renders it?

That way, we wouldn't have to export the VDBs to a ...

Re: Support for tyFlow volumes (Inferno)

------------------------- Update from Octane plugin 26.9 -----------------

----- GPU VRAM -----
By default, tyFlow will use as much VRAM as available to cache the simulation frames.
This can conflict with Octane and result in a CUDA out of memory error, that prevent octane to render the scene ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.3 for 3ds max® v26.8

Thank you! I have another question regarding TyFlow and VRAM usage. When rendering a fire simulation, does TyFlow load only the current frame's data into VRAM and then unload the previous frame's data as it advances to the next frame? Or does VRAM usage accumulate as more frames are rendered ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.3 for 3ds max® v26.8

Hi neonZorglub,

I attached two scenes here. Can you please look at them at frame 65? Native support is full of pixels. The flame looks terrible.

The second scene is exported to vdb then imported into octane volume. The flame is nice looking and not pixelated.

How can we have native support ...
