Just tested it and everything went smoothly. The loading still takes a bit because of the filesize, but it no longer slows down and is pretty reasonable compared to other render engines I've used
Thanks for the quick fix!

Re: Slow load times (component meshes)
Not sure if I explained it right or maybe I'm misunderstanding something about how UE4 sends scenes to octane.
I don't believe the problem is lightmap generation or datasmith specific (as far as I can tell) because the slowdown is not happening during datasmith import. Everything comes into ue4 in ...

Re: Slow load times (component meshes)
Hi Chris,
I'm not sure how many, but I did get the okay to send it over.
Do you have a secure file sharing system that Otoy uses? Otherwise I have ways to send it over if you can provide an email.
Also should I send the sketchup, datasmith, or ue4 file?
Thanks,
Max

Slow load times (component meshes)
Hello,
I tried to test the octane for unreal plugin with a relatively heavy archviz interior project that I had worked on previously in Sketchup/Lumion. My hope was to take the sketchup model, export to datasmith, import that into unreal, and render in octane for unreal.
The issue I'm seeing is ...

Re: Creating for OMP question
Thanks so much for your quick reply Goldorak.
So, I definitely seem to need to get into the ORC demo it would seem, if that's still a possibility.
Also based on your response I would not get any of this as a file, or folder. I think my original understanding was that you would manually place a ...

Creating for OMP question
Hello, I'm having some trouble understanding what I've been seeing in forums about OMP and navigable ORBX scenes (like the vines in the latest OMP).
I think I've read across a few forum and reddit threads that with Octane 3.04 and OMP 3.0 creating these should be possible (and relatively easy with ...

Re: Image texture cannot be shown
I think it's just Octanes naming, the nodes "rgb image" "greyscale image" would be what you're looking for if I'm reading the question correctly.

Writing nodes in LUA?
I had a few questions about LUA and the node graph. I think I understand how a scripted graph like the turntable animation works with a popup-gui that then executes an action based on your params. I was wondering though if and how it would be possible to make or write a node using LUA.
