Sorry, yes the finals will be linear EXR, but we were using PNG as poxies in this test because of the crashes.
What does the multithread save mean? Is it something that can be fixed or is it a CPU level problem (hardware not sottware)?

Re: CRITICAL: Duplicate definition for net.maxonexample.cinema4d
I'm afraid this issue is getting worse and I'm struggling to find a solution. I'm not unable to run C4D for longer than 10 mins before getting a crash.
I'm mainly working with materials in the node editor and the live viewer when the crashes happen. I've attached the bugreport if it helps?

Re: Shadow catcher material interfering with HDRI reflections
Thanks for the reply. I managed to get around it using an OSL node in the opacity channel of the shadow catching material (it was mentioned in another topic on here recently).

It meant I could use render layers and remove the shadow catching geometry from the reflections.

Re: Shadow catcher material interfering with HDRI reflections
Sure, I've attached a simple scene using a free HDRI.
I think I've figured it out though... it's bringing the "floor" of the HDRI up to meet the contact shadow. Without the shadow catcher material, the object is in the centre of the HDRI.
Do you know if there's a way to stop that behaviour?

Shadow catcher material interfering with HDRI reflections
Hi, using C4D plugin, I've notice that if I try to catch shadows the HDRI reflections seems to shift causing incorrect/offset reflections.

Re: CRITICAL: Duplicate definition for net.maxonexample.cinema4d
OK, all was well with 4.05 and I thought it was stable, but moving back to 2019.5 results in the same problem
I've attached the latest bugreport if it helps? (I'm still on C4D R20)

Re: CRITICAL: Duplicate definition for net.maxonexample.cinema4d
Update: I found a duplicate copy Octane standalone 2019.4 so removed it and reverted back to 4.05. The render is now working!
I'm assuming the clue was "duplicate definition"?
Either way, despite all the uninstalls and countless drivers, I'd obviously missed that I had two versions of standalone ...

Re: CRITICAL: Duplicate definition for net.maxonexample.cinema4d
Thanks for looking into this. It's happens on a lot of scenes from this project. They were created with v4 Octane, if that makes a difference?

CRITICAL: Duplicate definition for net.maxonexample.cinema4d
Hi,
I'm struggling with repeatable and constant crashes in C4D R20 right now. I've tried Octane 2019.5 and below, along with a variety of NVIDIA studio drivers going all the way back to 430.86. I've even tried the latest Game Ready driver, out of desperation.
