Re: [ScriptGraph] Random Grid Scatter

Sorry for the late reply!
I tried to do it but my scripting knowledge reached their limit with this and I didn't really have the time to see how to do that.
If anybody more skilled would be interested to try, please let me know!

@Despot - I don't have any issue with the daylight system. Maybe you should post an orbx for them to see

Re: Exporting Octane .orbx or Alembic

Thank You DrawFun,

I will test this in the next version.
Setting the geometry to reshapable doesn't give me better result. The file simply doesn't exist after the export is done.
If I apply the modifier that is loading the.abc. cache and export the scene it crashes.
The file has vertex color data ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1 RC3 [latest 2018]

Thanks for the Vertex Attribute fix.
The alembic is now loading without crashing but the Vertex Color Attribute is still not working out of the box.
The vertex color attribute from this same alembic is working in Octane for Blender.

So a work around I found was to do the set up I wanted with this ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1 RC2 [latest 2018]

Hi!
Thank you for the update.
But Octane crashes when I try to render my .abc file.... (see attached)
I wanted to try if the Vertex Color attribute would work with this new update. This file was working in the previous version.
Thanks
Yes that is broken in this build, we will fix it for the next ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1 RC1 [latest 2018]

Oh thank you PolderAnimation!
That's good to know! hmm I'm not sure if there is a way to do that easily with the tools I have. Or maybe with Python in Blender.. I will have to figure out how to do ^^
Thanks!

Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1 RC1 [latest 2018]

You can use it directly in a material node. I have it working with abc files made in Houdini. But I only have it working on point attributes in Houdini, when I put attributes on vertices it does not work for me. I do like it that it works on point attributes because that is more useful the on ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1 RC1 [latest 2018]

Thank you!
I see so actually it's not working the way I was expecting...
I'm wondering if there is a way to do the same kind of things with Blender..

For instance I've imported your abc file in Blender, it looks the same than in your sample scene, so far so good, it detects the Cd information ...
