Hi my friends,
I usually had no issues with Octane because i used to use it in 3dsmax. Now working in a CG bird in maya with octane for a show...
If i turn motion blur off everything is fine, i can use 2500 max samples and get a frame done from 2 to 5 minutes per frame..

it was an issue from houdini... some changing topology/poly count bringing issues into maya/octane. Which caused super weird stuff in octane.
It was fixed in the export from houdini, and now the motion blur is working perfectly.
it worked out of the box with force load activated for sure ...

Hi guys,
i am getting crazy to make motion blur work properly from houdini exported alembic files.
Any tips?
When motion blur is ON in Octane. The houdini stuff do crazy stuff in the render... it dissapears from one frame to another... or spikes of geo appears...

Hi my friend,
Motion Blur panel is a little confusing.
Which are the settings for proper filmic motion blur?
=> talkinb about a 180 degree shutter, 24fps... Normally it would be 48 in shutter options in real life.. (the double of the frame rate)
In Octane i am using (24fps):

Well... i can't render sequences to exr properly... the pixels are clamped around 1 (again...)
See attachment.. this was my formula for version 11.09. As you can see on the Max Frame Buffer the pixels are above 1... (7, 5, 2 in value)

This version is not saving to EXR properly (AGAIN!)... i tried several combinations of settings (with ocio, without, force tonce mapping on/off... gamma hack on/off... )
and all pixels are clamped around 1... so. no hight dynamic range exr file here...

Only cryptomatte is the problem so far.
Example of 0-100 frame sequence:
Happens like this... you start rendering the sequence to hard disk... all passes in different files using the render to sequence as usual in max... First frame (frame 0) of all passes renders fine.. then.. second frame ...

hope you can help me... i am rendering a sequence with cryptomatte pass turned on in render elements..
and it only renders the first frame of that pass... and then no more cryptomatte over the sequence...
the other passes are rendering fine...
what's hapenning???

... i remember viewport tone mapping/render tone mappings options in kernel... In old versions we had HDR lineal or something like that (that was heaven, i used that to save high dynamic exr with 3dsmax exr..
and it worked perfectly..
