That's crazy ! I'm using the Cinema 4D plugin & that node isn't listed in the textures group in the node editor, or anywhere in the right-click menu in the node-editor. Nor is it in the shaders list in the non-node interface either.
But when I use the search box on the node window, it's there & it ...

Re: Object position pass- Feature Request
I am in a position of desperately needing an object position pass to finish a project.
Until now, I have been using Redshift to produce the object position pass - but for a couple of shots we need to use real in-camera motion blur, so I need it to come out of Octane directly.

Re: Gradient in World Y
Hi,
C4D Gradient shader is a Texture node, and now that it is automatically translated via OSL, it is very handy to use.
But you can also obtain almost the same results with Octane Gradient and a couple of other nodes.

Re: Gradient in World Y
It is actually simpler than that, if you are willing to use a non-UV projection. Just choose flat and use the texture manipulator as needed for positioning.
Yes, this was my 'last resort' method - changing the projection type on the tag. I don't love it as a solution, because then I have to change ...

Re: Gradient in World Y
Yeah a C4D gradient should work. You will need to change the "type" to "3D-Linear" and change the numbers for start and end. It's a little cumbersome but should be usable.
Sadly, the '3D' options of the Cinema Gradient don't work with Octane. It always looks the same, regardless which space (World ...

Gradient in World Y
Going crazy with something that should be so simple, but I can't find a way to achieve it in Octane.
I am looking to do some Terrain Masking. For that I want to generate Slope Falloff & Height Falloff.
The Slope Falloff is easy, with a 'Falloffmap' set to 'Normal vs Vector 90 deg'.

Re: Render stops calculating early. Resulting in noisy frames.
Are you rendering to picture viewer ?
On the the 'Octane Render' 'Main' tab, amke sure you have Time Limit (sec), set to '0', so that the render will continue until it reaches your max samples. Otherwise, it is cut short at the time limit.
That's all I can think of right now..

Re: Convert Octane Scatter objects to C4D instances?
Yes it looks like it's broken again. (I'm on 4.01.1 and R19) :(
One method that worked for me recently is this:
- Switch 'Display type' to Object
- Create a Connect object and uncheck 'Weld'
- Drag the Scatter inside Connect
- Select Connect and hit C
Cheers

Great tip Milan !

Re: Mix Displacment with Falloff node
I mean the limitation of displacment only accepting pure texture & not having any nodes to handle slope masking for displacment.
We are waiting on a proper displacment mix node.

Re: Mix Displacment with Falloff node
OK, it's not great for my workflow but I know this is an Octane limitation not a plugin limitation.
Thanks for your help.
