Re: Cinema 4D version 2018.1-R3(Latest stable) - 29.03.2019
Hi all... this is killing me. I haven't been able to use Octane in any serious way in a couple months now, have to keep switching to Redshift or Cycles (which both work flawlessly on this same system). I've tried a bunch of different Nvidia Driver/octane version combos. They all end up with Cuda ...

Re: NVIDIA 418.81 breaks Octane (FIXED 419.17 / 4.02/2018.1 RC2)
Thank you KemmlerKemmler … I haven't had a good chance to put this through it's paces... but seems to be working so far. Before this I couldn't go 30 seconds without coughing up the 700 error (I have cycles installed and that works fine on all 7 cards, so not a hardware issue). I tried 419.17 with 4 ...

Re: Few questions about smicha's watercooled 7 gpu build
OK, my machine doesn't need to be sexy, just needs to render loads of stuff...
So back to original question -
a. replace board/cpu (if so, what stable 7 pcie options do I have with either i7, i9 or AMD?)
b. replace xeons maybe for higher frequency? - I haven't looked into that
c. build new box ...

So I should just go with whatever one looks sexy, FPF?

Re: Few questions about smicha's watercooled 7 gpu build
Hey all - resurrecting this thread as it seems to be fairly close to at least some of my questions right now. I've been running my 7x 980 TI build - EP2C612 WS + 2x Intel Computer CPU 2.1 8 BX80660E52620V4 ( https://ark.intel.com/products/92986/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2620-v4-20M-Cache-2-10-GHz ...

Re: Hello World: OctaneRender 4 is here
Thanks Iceman9 - that is a very helpful test. I'm assuming Neat will still be the way to go for animation, but I'm really looking forward to this improving. Easily one of my most anticipated features, as battling noise/fireflies/render times takes up a huge portion of time.
Nice test scene as well ...

Re: Cheapest way to get two / more cards in MP 5,1?
Hey Collider,
I appreciate all of the info! Do you know of a tutorial for going the 3m extender and extra power supply route? (I couldn't find the 3m online anywhere.)
And in your experience, does it sound like a jet engine with a power supply outside the case or are volume levels pretty ...

Re: 4x 1080ti + render node build advice
Maybe look at this thread: https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=59396&p=304624&hilit=mac+pro+5%2C1#p304624 , and/or smicha's videos... I would imagine working something off the Asus EP2612 WS motherboard with dual xeons would be the way to go. From what I gather, more reliable to go ...

Re: Cheapest way to get two / more cards in MP 5,1?
A. Amfeltec splitter, B. Amfeltec expansion cluster, or C. 3m extenders. Probably others, but those are the one's I've tried. You'll need an external psu. 3 is the limit for the maxwell cards (980Ti) in the 5,1, I was only able to get 2 working reliably, but had 3 going once or twice. Ended up ...

Re: Another Mac Pro user is looking for a (direct) GPU-Cluster
What information are you looking for that hasn't been discussed (search the forums for more, but cliff notes below)?
You can only use up to 3 maxwell architecture gpus (980Ti) in the 5,1 macs, no getting around it. You can use up to 5 of earlier architecture. The amfeltec solutions are nice for ...
