Re: OctaneRender™ 2018.1

I'm going to be *that guy* and mention that from your site there is no mention of 2018+, and even less on how to get a license. Especially if you already have a license and wish to upgrade etc.. In short.. if you want people to get these licenses.. make it easy to do so ;)

Re: OctaneRender™ 3.0 for LightWave™ - Test build 3.08.0.0

Now that Lightwave 2018 is out, any thoughts on when a build for this version is coming?
Since I have 2015 I can use that of course, but others might not be so lucky :)

Re: OctaneRender™ 3.0 for LightWave™ - Production build 3.05.0.0

I have a suggestion. I don't know if you remember? But I mentioned before about the need to use reload, if I create sliders to control camera settings.. like DOF.. manually.
Would it be possible to add a timer to the interface (that I can set) so that I don't have to keep pressing that reload button ...

Sided polygons

Hi,

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. But now a situation arose where it became necessary.
I have a camera behind a wall, that is supposed to be single sided. So that I can film into the area,
but not let any light etc.. stop bouncing off the wall that really is there. A.k.a single sided ...

Problem with slider values not being updated

Hi, I noticed when I was trying to bind the settings to a slider in Lightwave (like I have done before) that no matter what it was set to. No change appeared in Octane.
At the same time Octane can see there was a change, because it updates immediately. But it ignores the new values. So I tried again ...

Re: Render stopped - random colors randomized on continue

Interesting.. it looks like the trees shading changes by an offset (down & right,, or depending how you look at it) almost like it wraps a scrolling counter like in the old scrolling computer days (where I could see this happen as well) Not saying it is anything like that at all.. just that it ...

Re: Blending mode ?

Aha :) I see.. I didn't know that. Good, it saves me the hassle of creating two versions then :D It was probably in the manual too, but I am terrible at reading manuals.

Re: Blending mode ?

In theory you can use all the LightWave nodes that don't need information at render time, for example the 2D and 3D Textures, Constant, Functions, Math or Tools. Nodes like Shaders or Materials are not going to work.

This node tree is preprocessed before init the Octane rendering, building a ...

HI, now that OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.03.2 is out, any news on the LW version? I know it's beta still, but I've got a card waiting so... ;)

Re: LW3D, Octane 3 and OpenCL?

could be good if you posted a beta, so those of us with gtx 1080 can start using octane again. Besides, are you sidestepping interoperability? I can understand why, but it would be a good idea to have a fallback, to support all types of GPUs with cuda support. It is in the SDK for a reason after all ...
