Re: Horizon Haze (atmospheric perspective)

[quote=Ahmet, will volumetrics be improved in the future? Its seems to be such a difficult thing to work with in Octane at the moment. I feel like there should be a "cheater" option to just add haze, kind of how C4D allows you to do. The SSS technique is very heavy for something that for the most ...

Octane_Gear solved..!

Sorry, I found the problem...

I deleted the xpresso tag from a octane spotlight (I think some free spotlight rig..) and everything works fine...

Best regards, Andreas.

Octane_Gear

Hello,

Great version! Thanks.

But something strange happens.
I can't render with the Render Queue because of a missing file error.
When I open the Cinema Texture Manager I see a missing image: Octane_Gear.png with a strange path.
I can not delete it but I replace it with an image on my harddrive ...

Re: Version 3.08-RC3

Hello,

Thanks for the new build.
Works fine on Mac Cinema 4D R19...

One strange thing: Textures are rendered differently on front and back normals...

Re: Version 3.08-test6 (TEST VERSION)

Fog is another thing that is only in the Environment tag. Its a global parameter. If we want a light to look a certain way in fog we have to work extra hard to change everything to get that to work, when other Renderers such as Arnold already have a Global fog and a Individualized Light/volume ...

Hi,

Great update. Works fine in R19.
The Power slider of the ToonPointLight does nothing...

Thanks!

Re: How do you volumetric?

I am also fighting with the fog in Octane. (other renderers such as Redshift even Cinema's Physical are much easier to set up...)
Can't get it right especially for large outdoor scenes where I just want a bit of haze in the background...
Which slider is the Medium radius?

Thanks, Andreas.

Re: Displacement and Scatter

It works... but you have to make sure the color profile is set to linear, otherwise the objects do not line up with the displaced surface correctly. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction!

As for the edge artifacts, just resize your displacement map to 1.002 and they should disappear.

I ...

Re: Version 3.06.2 - Latest stable

Not really sure what's happening but for me Octane has grown more and more unstable to the point where it now crashes my entire computer – and all I need do is boot up C4D, start Octane and make an object or material. Then it crashes and takes my entire system with it. I'm running the latest MacOS ...
