Multi-UV is crucial for layered non-destructive in-engine texturing. Blender has this amazingly quick, efficient and endlessly creative workflow nailed down, I'm wondering why Octane is limited to 3 maximum inputs to choose from.
Would also be nice to address the sets by name instead of number ...

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 4.05 [current 4.xx]
as far as i can tell since V4.04 standalone bug:
[according to changes in this 4.05 post this doesn't seem to have been fixed]
if you have your timeline set to a frame other than 0, your batch render will replace frame 0 (animated image sequence?) textures with some of that other current frame's ...

Hello. I'm still on RC7, but I doubt this changed in RC7-R2

Re: Displacement issue 3.07 skewed steps on smooth gradients
hi beppe,
Thanks, but I have to ask, why the change? How does this affect the workflow?
Did it previously always interpret as 32bit and this is the new default to save VRAM?
Seems like a bad idea to have the "worse" option as a default :/
I also have no option to enable this in cinema4d plugin ...

Displacement issue 3.07 skewed steps on smooth gradients
Hi.
I make building displacement maps.
_post4.jpg
Yeah, might be unconventional - but listen, I feel like 3.07 has a problem with displacement. Let me show you.

What are those steps? My first thought was not enough bit depth (had that before), but they also don't make any sense ...

I tested it with glossy and mixers and it always stopped responding. I don't think it was caused by any material in particular.aoktar wrote:
Which material?
I just started using LocalDB instead, works much better

Re: Version 3.05.3 (13.01.2017) - Latest stable
Cinema4D gets stuck when I try to load in octane materials from the c4d content browser that I saved there in 4.5 R2
Rolling back to 4.5 R2 fixes that, but in 5.3 R1 it doesn't work
Maybe someone else already reported this but I thought I'd tell you
C4D version is R17.055 Studio
Standalone version ...

Hey everyone, I've got a question.
Am I missing something here?
As far as I know, this isn't how materials in PBR methods are supposed to behave... or is it? Speculars don't invert just because the diffuse inverts, right?

Writing this for the second time, because the forum logged me out while writing it (???) and didn't keep it when I had to log in again. Great.
Anyway, octane keeps re-rendering my materials whenever I change textures or any values in them. That's fine, right? It should be.
