Thanks for the reply. I've not had success using the Copy SOP as it's very slow (seems like Octane is trying to mesh every instance individually at rendertime). have you change something in the IP settings of the Octane network configuration window?
If both PC have the same SDK version and are in the same subnet, the master should see the slave automatically :roll:
What are exactly the two IP addresses?

This is all very exciting. I'm close to pulling the trigger on 3x Pascal GPUs but I just need to be sure that they are the best option for the money. As soon as I see a legit benchmark, I'll be able to buy my new GPUs and finally get some work done!

Just use whatever the most cost effective card is. However, if you can wait until August (when Octane will hopefully support Pascal GPUs), then I'd recommend getting a 1070 instead of a 970 or even the newly announced 1060. Both will be much faster than than 970.

Your VRAM will be limited to whatever your laptop is. I have a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro and am limited to 2GB (Closer to 850MB once all the background process is being used). The way we've solved this is either (a) build our scene on the laptop, then remote desktop into a Mac Pro and render from there ...
