nVidia Driver 388.43 or 388.31

I need to try updating my nVidia driver to see if After Effects 2018 will work more reliably. I'm seeing strangeness and apparently the later updates (388.31 and higher) are working fine.

Last time I updated my nVidia drivers to the latest, Octane did NOT like it.

Does anyone here have a ...

Re: What to allow in Windows Firewall for Network Rendering?

Thanks for the reply. I checked and I do have exceptions in place for all of Octane's apps. This is driving me nuts.

What to allow in Windows Firewall for Network Rendering?

So, I'm using the same versions of Octane (both standalone and plugin) as well as same versions of Cinema 4d. I'm trying to setup Octane network rendering, and it works fine if I turn off the Windows Firewall completely. If I turn on Windows firewall, it doesn't. I tried to allow port 48000 (default ...

Re: 4x 1080ti + render node build advice

Please don't listen to anyone trying to talk you out of water cooling, be it hybrids or full loops. They're usually woefully ill-informed, or have a childlike fear of water in their workstation.
Ha. To each their own. I'd still recommend against it considering you could use the money to buy ...

Re: 4x 1080ti + render node build advice

You'll get a ton of opinions, but the biggest thing I had to look out for was the spacing on the motherboard (make sure the slots are allowing 4 large two slot cards), and at the bottom you gotta make sure you have room for the chassis cables. In my case I used an Asus ROG Rampage V Edition 10 board ...

Re: After Effects, Linear Workflow and EXRs...difference in AE

All great stuff Milan. Thanks for that. Also, thanks Yan...I noticed that as well.

Thanks so much, that totally did the trick. That makes LV and AE look nearly identical.

Now what about the render in the viewport when hitting ctrl+R? Is there a way to fix that as well? Not that I use it much ...

Now what about the render in the viewport when hitting ctrl+R? Is there a way to fix that as well? Not that I use it much, usually just working in the LV, but can I get that correct as well?

Seriously thinking about trying this laptop...Thoughts?

It's a beast of a laptop, and apparently it uses desktop GPUs. I believe they are slightly custom cards or something to fit in their cases, but it's not the mobile versions of cards. I spoke with someone from the company yesterday on the phone and they assured me that the cards are both installed ...

After Effects, Linear Workflow and EXRs...difference in AE

I've looked through the FAQs and searched, but I guess it's come to the point I have to ask for some guidance. :) I think I have things set appropriately, but for some reason I'm not getting consistent results. Primarily there's a difference in After Effects. I've had consistent results using ...
