Re: MoSpline + instance not rendering

Thanks for the input!

I have updated and tried rendering again with similar results.
I have attached log, but I cant translate it to anything understandable in regards to any error :-/

MoSpline + instance not rendering

I have created a growing stalk and leaves with Mospline and deformers.
I have made instances of the original plant/stalk and had to set them to Render Instance to avoid funky things going on with the objects (probably because of deformers using world space or something).
Instances are placed ...

Re: Motherboard fit for 4 GPUs (1080+980ti)

Thats (almost) right.
I have a PC with the hybrid card, but I will put in the original card, take out the HDD, sell that machine and build a new one.

I already have and will use the 980ti + Harddisk
The rest is new
3*1080
64GB RAM
suitable motherboard
suitable CPU

Re: Motherboard fit for 4 GPUs (1080+980ti)

That will have to be decided.
I would like a 4GHz CPU (since many operations in C4D are single threaded I’d rather have high clock speed than many cores), but as I understand it it has to have enough lanes for all GPUs

Motherboard fit for 4 GPUs (1080+980ti)

Diehard Mac user - but complete PC-builder noob here ;)
I have looked through several forum threads but haven't found the answer yet and I hope some of you can help me out.
I have an EVGA GTX 980 ti Hybrid (water cooled) card now, but want to build a new workstation with this card + three 1080s when ...

Re: Switch off GPU card for rendering?

Good point about the airflow.
I am looking at the MSI Z97 Power AC motherboard which has five PCI-Express x16 ports but I might have to look more into the other threads in the forum to see what others have done.
I did plan on water-cooling, but I dont know when water-cooled 1080 cards comes out or ...

Re: Switch off GPU card for rendering?

Great - just what I hoped for!
I have seen the settings for enabling/disabling cards but didn't know if it worked like I wanted it to.
I will probably find a motherboard with room for four GPUs, buy three 1080s and build the rest around those components.
Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Switch off GPU card for rendering?

Hi there
I’m a completely new Octane user and I have bought Octane and upgraded my PC with a water cooled GTX980ti.
I can see that I will definitely be using Octane over VRay for many of my upcoming projects so I am looking into building a new computer.
Luckily I didn't buy components before the ...
