Unfortunately I don't know how I can convert a EXR from a Geotiff file.

I did test the 16Bit PNG heightmap with octane 2020 and texture import type 32Bit. There is no banding visible.

When I try to convert to a 32bit png, gdal gives this error message:

Warning 6: PNG driver doesn't support data type Float32. Only eight bit (Byte) and sixteen bit (UInt16) bands supported.

Use Geotiff for Displacement

Hi

I've got a a 16000 by 18000 px large geotiff file. If I use this this file for displacement in octane render, no displacement is visible.
I converted the file with gdal to a 16 bit png, but then I got some banding in the displacement. Please see attached image.

Yeah I'm afraid I mixed up the wording.

What I'm trying to achieve Is to add an icon to only one side of an object.
So I made a Mix-Material with one materiel for the orange color and one material for the icon which is added as a texture.
The second material has XYZ to UVW as texture projection ...

Thanks for your very quick reply.
The Side node works perfect and fixes the problem with the placement on the inside of the object (back side of the polygons).

But is it possible to remove the placement on the backside of the object? Please see attached image.

Texture Projection XYZ to UVW projects always on front and back side of an object. Is it possible to have the projection on only one side?
