Re: Octane 2026.2 for Cinema4D - v1.8.4
Hi,
I updated from version 2025.4_v1.7.2 to this one, but now the rendering is very slow and unusable with old scene.
What is causing this?
I encountered the same problem today, but strangely, I was still using 1.8.4 a few days ago, and the rendering time was normal then (maybe 3-5 ...

Re: Denoised light passes?
You need to add the Tonemapping on top of the denoised AOVs, also ACES Tonemapping.
It needs to be done in Compositor so it is a bit more complex to set up, but it should be more easy in future, the devs are working on it.
ciao,
Beppe
Could you show me how I can integrate ACES Tonemapping ...

Re: Denoised light passes?
But why is it so complicated and not a simple tick on the settings?
I tried but it doesen't work, maybe because I render with Aces profile?

Re: Denoised light passes?
Hello bepeg4d!
So I've been testing this feature on Octane 2024.1-[R3] but somehow I still can't denoise light passes . Is there perhaps any other setting I might be missing? Thank you!
EDIT: Solved it via Open Image Denoise node! Works perfectly!

Re: Cinema4D version 2023.1.3-R2 (Latest stable) 24.04.2024
Hi,
with old files the live viewer works correctly, but if I launch in render it always crashes :(
Try to delete and create new settings at RenderSettings, and after creating, choose it and send render to PV.
May be it wouldn't work, but it helps me fix crashes with old scenes and last plugin ...

Re: Cinema4D 2022.1 (Latest stable) (19.11.2022)
Is there a reason why the GPU is not used 100%? Only in a few cases do I see it reach 100%.

Re: Cinema4D version 2021.1.6-(R4) (Latest stable) 18.09.2022
I also tried version 2021.1.6 but it still crashes. I only have one texture displacement
It's looks like your geometries or vertex displacement. Having one displacement doesn't mean that will not crash. It's possible if you go high on tessellation.
It seems strange to me because the surface ...
