solved - it was related to long file paths of the textures.matthewcastiglia wrote:Are there any issues with loading bitmaps? I am trying to load in textures and everytime I do standalone crashes.

Re: How to bake the Sydney Opera House? many textures/shaders
Quick update, it's crashing mid-way through the Octane PBR lightmapping process.
Has anyone managed to get global baking with OTOY working with Unity?
Tried twice to record with windows xbox game mode but annoying the crash stops it. So in the video you can't see the error.

Would you be able to share with us a max file and/or orbx please?
Likely this issue is resolved with this post:

Yes this is most likely the fix Jules posted on Facebook

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v4.00-XB4 - 6.04 [TEST]
Whatever the speed hit is, this is not from geometry processing in the V4 core, which someone on FB confirmed is working as expected when collapsing the objects to single mesh - e.g. V4 gets the speed to 10 million polys loaded in 3 seconds, so 70 million polys would be 20 seconds to load. This is ...

Slow compilation in scenes with high object count.
Hi everyone,
I see that there are a bunch of people having issues with slow compilation times in 3DS Max. I mentioned this in the facebook group and Jules believes "it’s definitely an object gathering overhead issue" within the 3DS Max plugin.

Yep - insane. This is a 3.08 issue as well. Let alone V4HHbomb wrote:@matthewcastiglia

Hi guys,
I tested xb4 making a stress test:
win10
1 x Gtx1070
i7 16GB
TEST A)
15.800.000 polys > GPU mem 3.85 GB
4554 objs
time to voxel > 1:45 min.
I did a pc hardware limit deadly TEST B)
26.430.000 polys > GPU mem 6.3 GB
7587 objs
time to voxel > 6 min.
after render was started, GPU failed, it ...

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v4.00-XB4 - 6.04 [TEST]
I asked about the insanely slow collecting nodes phase numerous times. Good luck trying to find an answer. Anything more than a product render in 3ds Max/Octane is currently useless.
