Re: OctaneRender for Maxon Cinema4D Plugin Product dev wanted
Blackstar -aka 'at2'- is not interested in doing the plugin I'm afraid, as they already have a similar product around, in which they seem to have committed pretty heavily, and made for Nvidia's Mental Ray, RS real competitor.
We don't know the details, but it must be pretty rough for RS to build ...

Re: OctaneRender for Maxon Cinema4D Plugin Product dev wanted
Why hasn't Refractive asked Black Star to integrate Octane into C4D, their recent work on M4D proves they are capable, and they say they are available?mainframefx wrote:Otoyo has nothing to do with Autodesk they just do stuff for them, that doesn't mean Autodesk has to say anything at all regarding Octane.

Re: I'm afraid Autodesk couldn't care less
plugins are developed by 3rd parties, the problem must be finding someone who can/wants to develop a plugin for C4D
There are quite a few companies that make custom plug-ins for C4D, they just have to be approached by Refractive. As for Autodesk not caring less, I would disagree since they are ...

Re: OctaneRender for Maxon Cinema4D Plugin Product dev wanted
It's not lost yet because it's still in beta, but it still makes some of us very nervous because of OTOY's relationship with Autodesk.

It seems like Refractive would have been able to find someone by now with both C4D and C++ experience.

I have great admiration for someone who can carry an entire conversation by himself, well done sir!
Could you possibly make a tutorial on how you textured and lit the band scene? All my scenes are coming in with no, or very poor lighting. I know to connect a diffuse, and a emission texture to my ...

Re: DELL ALIENWARE m18x
I would recommend a Clevo P180HM instead. Clevo made Alienware laptops until just a few years ago, and ever since Dell seems to be playing catch up. I use a Clevo for all my professional work and it's impressive just how well it handles heat during renders that take a week or more.
