The transform is not duplicated anymore.
A maya API function MPlug::isConnected() did return false, even though the MPlug was connected.
AD got a ticket for that.

As Calus assumed a while ago,

I'm (re)-doing the part that updates the different maya object types (meshes, subdivs, lights, instancers) to octaneRender.

This will result in the "exporter nodes", which are as well automatically added to the node graph with the toolshelf button.
So no effort is ...

I'm redoing the main render class right now, so IPR and one frame rendering will be influenced by that. ;)

The idea going all node based is, that you have shelf buttons to edit the node graph (in maya),
and have it all transparent and not behind closed doors.
